Lipstick With SPF

So when you go out to the beach you would normally apply sun block to parts of your body that is exposed to protect it from the sun right? But you have neglected a spot that is also exposed to the sun a lot. Your lips also need to be protected from the sun as well or they will get damaged. The products that you can purchase that has lip SPF are lip balm, chap stick, lip stick, liquid lipstick, and lip gloss. All of these products can contain lip SPF and you will be smart to buy it if you are going out into the sun.

Using sunscreen is almost always the first suggestion proposed by dermatologists. They also agree that wearing sunscreen on the lips is extremely important as the lips have little or no natural protection from the sun. Wearing a lipstick with SPF can provide the protection that your lips need to fend off premature aging and skin cancer from sun exposure.

As a general rule, try to buy lipstick with SPF 15 or higher for adequate sun protection. This rule actually applies to other cosmetics as well. Foundations, moisturizers, and cosmetic facial powders with sun protection of at least SPF 15 can all help protect the skin from sun damage.

Lipstick With SPF

Opaque lipstick is more likely to provide greater protection against the sun than clear or translucent lip glosses. Even if an individual does not wish to wear a bold lip color on an everyday basis, a nude, lip-colored opaque lipstick might be a better choice to shield the lips from the sun. Lip balms sometimes offer SPF as well, and can be used in place of more noticeable lip color. Men, as well as women who do not wear heavier lipsticks and lip glosses, might benefit from these lip balms with sunscreen.

Dermatologists do recommend avoiding applying very shiny, clear lip gloss to bare lips. The clear, shiny glosses tend to direct sunlight to the lips and increase the likelihood of sun damage occurring to the lips. For those who do not wish to part with the look of shiny lip glosses, the damage can be minimized by layering the lip gloss on top of an opaque lipstick with SPF. This lipstick can be a nude lip color to maintain the look of bare lips underneath the shiny gloss while still providing protection from the sun.

Wearing a lipstick with SPF should provide adequate protection for everyday wear, but it is important to step up the sun protection if an extended day in the sun is planned. Some sunscreens are made specifically for use on the delicate skin of the lips and offer a higher SPF than a lipstick. If possible, apply the sunscreen to the lips first before layering on a lipstick with SPF to maximize lip protection. As with sunscreen on the rest of the body, it is important to reapply every couple of hours, especially when swimming, sweating, or doing any other activities that may remove the sunscreen and reduce its effectiveness.

Anti Aging Tips For the Lips
1. Avoid constantly licking your lips. Contrary to popular belief, licking your lips has no moisturising or hydrating effect at all. As a matter of fact, licking your lips can actually dry them out. Saliva contains digestive enzymes that evaporates quickly as you lick, leaving your lips drier than before you licked them. Dry, cracked and chapped lips can make your face look ugly so enough with the licking.

2. Avoid unprotected sun exposure. Just like our facial skin, our lips can also get damaged when exposed to the sun. The sun's UV rays can darken, wrinkle and dry out the lips, making you look old and lifeless. To prevent this, try to avoid the sun between 11 in the morning until 4 in the afternoon because that is when the sun is at its strongest. If you really need to go outside, make sure to use a lip balm with SPF and reapply it after a couple of hours to protect your lips from damage.

3. Wear lip balm with sun protection factor (SPF). Sunscreen is an essential product of every skin care regimen, but let us not forget our lips. Our lips also gets damaged by the sun's harmful UV rays if left unprotected. This is why it is important to wear a lip balm with SPF every single day. Apart from protecting the lips from sound damage, it also prevents discoloration, wrinkling, dryness and chapping.

4. Exfoliate lips regularly. It's a good practice to exfoliate your lips at least once a week. Exfoliation can help get rid of the dry and dead skin on the lip's surface. It can also help lighten lips that are discolored due to sun damage. To exfoliate your lips, you can use a mixture of sugar and olive oil or if you want something fancy, you can buy those flavored lip scrubs in the market. Make sure to moisturize your lips after exfoliating them.

5 Avoid smoking. Smoking is one of the primary causes of both the wrinkles in the skin around the lips and the lips itself. It also dries out the lips which can make it look unhealthy and old, so better ditch that stick before it's too late.

Lipstick with SPF will come in a lot of variety. So you will have a lot of choices. They come in many different flavors! from fruity to sweet. So you can choose any flavor that you like. Along with colors they come with a lot of flavors to choose from. They also come with different amounts of sun protection so be mindful of that.

Tips For Healthy-Looking Lips
1. If your lips become dry and start to peel, use some sugar and olive oil to exfoliate your skin and remove the accumulated dead skin cells.

2. Look for a lip product that has a base of beeswax, petroleum jelly, or paraffin. These products will seal moisture and stay on your lips longer in comparison to thinner balms and glosses.

3. Ditch the lip gloss and switch to a matte lip product with an SPF.

4. If you need to stick with lip gloss, apply a colored lipstick to your lips first and then add some shine. A colored lipstick with an SPF product is your best bet.

5. Opt for a lip gloss product with a minimum of SPF 30.
